  • Cacoon Hammock - SILODROME The Cacoon is quite possibly the greatest hammock design ever conceived by the mind of man. Woven from a marine grade fabric the Cacoon comes in both 1 and 2 person variations and includes add-ons like mosquito netting, sheepskin liners and a number of other extras.I can’t help but think that a cross-country motorcycle journey would be an order of magnitude more pleasant if you were sleeping in one of these, as opposed to a little nylon tent or a greasy motel.Once disassembled they weigh in at 2kgs (~4.4lbs) and fit easily in a backpack or saddle bag. They come in grey, natural white, blue, red and green with custom colours available upon request. The 1 person Cacoon costs $370 with the 2 person costing a little more at $550, you can grab yours here.

  • Istanbul, Turkey The megacity of Istanbul is the largest city in Turkey, and the third largest in Europe. A booming center of finance, economics, and culture, Istanbul's metro area is home to over 13 million people. The city is considered by some to be the epitome of East meets West culture. Istanbul has been known by many other names, most notably Constantinople and Byzantium. With a rich cultural heritage, it's no wonder that the city is home to a variety of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Also notable is the Byzantine and Ottoman architecture present in the city, and picturesque mosques such as the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, and the Sultan Ahmed Mosque. Visitors to this fine city can enjoy all the pleasures and excitements any big city affords, and there is something fun to do for any budget.

  • Greece: A Honeymoon Classic | Wedding Planning, Ideas A newlywed couple finds romance in Greece. Couple: Carrie and Aaron Whittaker of Grosse Point, MichiganInterview by Jenna MahoneyThe NewlywedsWe chose this destination because…it is steeped in so much history and romance. We spent a total of 18 days exploring three areas: Athens, Rhodes and Santorini. Athens has a big-city vibe, and the ancient ruins are mind-boggling. And seeing the Parthenon, especially illuminated at night, was unforgettable. Santorini is a gorgeous island dotted with beautiful beaches and whitewashed buildings. There’s even a dormant volcano, which we hiked one day. The island of Rhodes, with its olive trees, ruins and castles, was our favorite. We loved staying in…Rhodes! We spent most of our time here exploring the Old Town on the island’s northern end. It’s a walled city, complete with a moat that’s more than two thousand years old. Its enormous stone gate has 11 entrances, some of which still have their original wooden doors. We spent most of our week strolling along the cobblestone streets past shops, ruins, restaurants, churches and mosques. It was like stepping back in time. Our favorite excursion was…exploring the 16th-century Kritina Castle in Rhodes. We rented a car and drove to the site, which is situated on a cliff high above the Mediterranean. We climbed a series of steep steps, past twisted olive trees, to a lookout platform. The view was dazzling: deep-blue water, dotted with patches of turquoise and green. The famous whitewashed walls of SantoriniOur most romantic meal was at…To Kafeneio restaurant in Athens, which is perched on Lycabettus Hill and overlooks the Acropolis. We took a cable car to get there, arriving just in time for sunset. Then we nabbed a table by the window and watched as the sky turned shades of bright orange and rust. Once the sun was down, the ruins were dramatically lit up with white lights. Our daily ritual was…having coffee in the afternoons. While each day was different, we’d usually find ourselves stopping around 4 p.m. We’d sit with the men playing backgammon in cafés and savor cups of potent Mediterranean coffee. Many times, we’d order a sweet treat, like baklava, or even a glass of wine, to go with it.

  • Another example of boxes as decoration and storage. I love the brick and black boxes, a great feature for displaying precious items or even a whiskey wall (for those that way inclined).
